75th Annual Grubstake Days || Hilton Ave & Highway 62, Yucca Valley · All weekend
Grubstake Days turns 75 this year, which is kind of a big deal. The full lineup is long but the main action is centered at Hilton Ave and Hwy 62. There's a carnival, a parade, tug-of-war, a beard contest, food trucks, a horseshoe tournament, and a marketplace. Very much a bring-the-whole-family situation.

Memorial Day Flower Drop & Air Fair || Palm Springs Air Museum
If you've never seen this, it's worth making the trip. The museum drops 3,000 flowers from a vintage aircraft over the grounds to honor fallen veterans. Meaningful way to spend part of Memorial Day, especially with kids.
